Summer Wine

December 2, 2008

Summer wines are the wines that are drunk during the summer. Summers are always remembered with the heat, humidity and it is often synonymous with cheap and simple. A summer wine is light, simple white or a light, simple rose. And it is refreshing as well as ideal for the hot weather. It is generally said that people drink more in summer than they do at any other time.

There are many wines that serve as a beverage in summer but a hot summer weekend is the perfect time to try a dry rose. These wines can be drunk year-round, of course, and some wineries promote them as a good compromise wine for Thanksgiving. A pink wine that’s dry or just off-dry can also serve as a summer beverage. Even chilled wine does much of a cooling effect.

There is no need to go for an expensive wine but a jug of cheap and simple wine can be the choice. There are various flavors and brands that one can choose from with different combinations of summer food. After dinner one can treat oneself with a chilled, light and delightful dessert wine in summers.
