· Benedictine is an exquisite liqueur created by blending about twenty seven herbs from around the world. It was created by a monk in France in the sixteenth century.
· It was the favorite of French royalty but its recipe was almost lost during the French revolution. Its present form can be attributed to Alexander Le Grand, who recreated it in 1863.
